The Far Cry franchise is known for its unhinged villains and Far Cry 5 is no exception. They each have their own iconic main villain and Joseph Seed is Far Cry 5’s bad guy. Joseph Seed is the leader of the Project at Eden’s Gate, a religious cult that will stop at nothing until everyone in Hope County, Montana is a believer. Joseph is a very charismatic man, but an absolute nut job once you start learning about his beliefs and his shady past.

Joseph believes he was chosen by God to warn the people about the coming of the end of the world when, in reality, he’s just paranoid about the possibility of nuclear war. He orders the members of his cult to play dirty and use any means necessary to convert the people of Hope County. His wife died in a horrific car accident and Joseph murdered his infant daughter as she was healing from the wreck. Joseph once worked at an orchard before he becoming homeless and eventually winding up in prison. One of the cult’s odd traditions is to carve your sins into your skin with a knife which gives us a deeper understanding of Joseph Seed’s personality. He never harms the deputy because he’s convinced your character will convert and make the Project at Eden’s Gate an unstoppable force.
