Leaving Autherley Junction, I head north along the Shropshire Union, through spectacular scenery and moor up for the night at Brewood.
Next day I continue north, over the Stretton Aqueduct and Watling Street and through Wheaton Aston, and eventually arrive at Gnosall.
Continuing on, I pass through Norbury Junction, where I had previously visited whilst looking to buy a narrow boat, and also unexpectedly stumble across the location where I had once filmed and starred in a short horror movie.
I then endure a 3 hour delay, as I pass ‘through’ the largest fishing competition in Europe – 500 contestants over 4 miles, at 1 mph.
Afterwards, I’m pleased to stop and finally enjoy a well earned cup of tea – spending the night at Cheswardine.
